Religion is still as important to some people as it has ever been; to others, not so much but whatever your opinion on ‘the God delusion’ you probably can still appreciate the magnificence of many religiously important buildings. If you are visiting Piccadilly you may enjoy a moment of quiet reflection in St James’s Church which is open daily.
St James’s Church is situated on Piccadilly with another entrance on Jermyn Street. There is a regular market in the grounds selling everything from exotic food to trinkets, paintings, antiques and jewellery – probably a better place to spend your holiday money than going home with a suitcase full of minature London taxis and I Love London t-shirts.
It is a historic building which forms the tope of the cross on the orb and sceptre formed by the layout of local roads.
We have included a few photographs of St James’s Church above. If you are interested in learning more about St James’s Church our partner website, Mayfair Highlife, published a recent article on topic.
