Piccadilly Market

The Piccadilly Market is held in the courtyard of the beautiful St James’s Church everyweek from Tuesday to Saturday.

The market enjoys its own special atmosphere and is a must for anyone with a passion for unique arts, crafts, antiques and collectables from around the world.

With its own onsite café, the Piccadilly Market is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon browsing for gifts and looking around the stunning Sir Christopher Wren Church that is St James’s Church.

The Arts and Crafts market was first held at St James’s in 1981 as part of the Piccadilly Arts Festival. The market opened permanently during 1984, in the beginning operating just two days a week. Since then the market has grown and expanded, it can now be found at the church five days a week.

GREASE is the original high-school musical featuring all the unforgettable songs from the movie including You’re The One That I Want, Grease Is The Word, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You, Sandy and Greased Lightnin’.

Now in its fourth electrifyin’ year at London’s Piccadilly Theatre, the smash hit musical Grease has a new cast from 24 January 2011. Making her West End debut, Carina Gillespie will join the show in the iconic role of ‘Sandy’ to star opposite Matthew Goodgame who continues as ‘Danny’ until 30 April 2011.

The new class of Rydell High 2011 enrolling from 24 January also includes David O’Reilly (‘Roger’), Michael Pickering (‘Doody’), Zoe Doano (‘Frenchy’), Matthew Russell-Jones (‘Eugene’), Nancy Hill ‘(Miss Lynch’) and Kristina MacMillan (‘Cha Cha’), with other parts played by the ensemble.

Other cast members who will continue in their roles include Jamie Capewell (‘Kenickie’), Siubhan Harrison (‘Rizzo’), Bennett Andrews (‘Sonny’), Robyn Mellor (‘Marty’), Susannah Allman (‘Patty’) and Jason Capewell (Teen Angel/Vince Fontaine), whilst Kerry Winter will stay with the show to take over the role of ‘Jan’.

Swallow Street

Swallow Street is a short pedestrianised street that runs between Piccadilly and Regent Street. It is a popular destination for such a small street thanks to the excellent restaurants and nightclubs it is home to; Gaucho Piccadilly, Cuckoo Club, Anaya Nightclub (formerley Volstead / Willas), Fish Works Piccadilly, Veeraswamy and Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill, can all be found on Swallow Street.

Swallow Street is very close to le Meridien Piccadilly Hotel and the Royal Academy of Arts.
